This year due to the COVID-19 pandemic we will be holding our annual meeting online. Please join us for informal conversations about the state of the geosciences, a lecture by Dr. Marueen Long, Yale University, entitled “What lies beneath Connecticut’s geology? New images of the crust and mantle lithosphere from the SEISConn experiment” and our annual business meeting

2019 Geological Society of Connecticut Annual Meeting
The 11th annual meeting of the Geological Society of Connecticut was held Friday, November 15, at Heritage Hotel (https://www.heritagesouthbury.com) in Southbury, CT.
              
Along with a cocktail hour (cash bar), catered dinner, and lecture by William C. Burton, USGS Research Geologist, entitled Tempest in a teapot:  how a small area in the western highlands reflects the wondrous complexity of Connecticut geology, an annual business meeting, and announce election results for the GSC Board of Directors.

Joint Field Trip with the Environmental Professionals of Connecticut (EPOC).
The board is working with EPOC on running portions of a previous field trip that examines the glacial Geology of the lower central valley in Connecticut. Specific dates and associated costs are being determined, although we anticipate this trip will also be offered in the fall of 2019.
